City Sonic Toronto Artist Barenaked Ladies

TYLER STEWART is the drummer for Canadian pop/rock stars the Barenaked Ladies.

Since joining the band in 1990, he has been part of their rise from the country's first great indie success story to Billboard chart-topping best sellers with multiple Juno Awards and several Grammy nominations.

The band's first release, The Yellow Tape, was the first independent album to sell 100,000 copies in Canada, changing music retail/distribution for good. Their first album, Gordon, has sold over 1 million copies in Canada.

In 1998, their single "One Week" was a #1 US Billboard hit and nominated for a Grammy Award. In 2009, singer Steven Page announced he was leaving the band; the remaining members are recording a new album.

Tyler is well-known for his antics on stage and off: when not hamming it up with BNL he can usually be found coaching, playing or commenting on hockey at an arena near you.
