City Sonic Toronto Artist Colin Munroe

COLIN MUNROE is a music producer and pop singer/songwriter signed to Motown Records.

He grew up outside of Ottawa and was home schooled by religious parents until Grade 9, at which point he was granted permission to attend a nearby arts school.

A multi-instrumentalist, his influences include the Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, Dr. Dre and U2. Colin moved to Toronto to study film and philosophy at U of T and after attending local open mic jams soon found himself working with the city's best urban music talent: he has written, produced or collaborated with Glenn Lewis, Divine Brown, Brassmunk, Saukrates and Drake.

In 2008, he "leaked" an unofficial remix to Kanye West's song "Flashing Lights" which became an instant internet sensation, landing him on MTV, Pitchfork, Perez Hilton, etc.

His mixed-tape release Colin Munroe is the Unsung Hero kept the global buzz going. The debut Motown album Don't Think Less of Me (produced by Grammy Award-winning Dallas Austin of Pink and Gwen Stefani fame) is due in fall 2009.
