DIVINE BROWN is a Juno-Award winning R&B/soul singer with a five-octave vocal range.
Born and raised in Toronto, she began singing at age 4 and performing at age 12. She has since starred in theatrical productions such as Rent and Ain't Misbehavin'.
Her debut album, 2005's Divine Brown, was produced by rapper/producer Saukrates and featured the Canadian radio hit "Old Skool Love." Her latest album, The Love Chronicles, won a 2008 Juno for Best R&B/Soul Album; the hit single, "Sunglasses" is based on the Corey Hart classic "Sunglasses at Night" and features guest Kardinal Offishal.
She formerly hosted an open mic night for urban music at the Lula Lounge and is probably the only artist who has performed with both The Backstreet Boys (as opening act for their North American tour) and Youssou N'Dour (at a free concert during TIFF promoting his film I Bring What I Love).
