City Sonic Toronto Artist Sarah Slean

SARAH SLEAN is a chanteuse, painter, poet, actor and student of philosophy.

Born in Pickering Ontario, she has studied classical piano at the Royal Conservatory and released seven albums of decadent pop and cabaret music. Her debut EP, Blue Parade, was released independently when she was 19; guests on the record included Hayden and Kurt Swinghammer. Her second album, Night Bugs, was co-produced by Hawksley Workman and released by Warner in Canada and the U.S.

She has been nominated for several Juno Awards and named Best Musician by Eye Weekly and Best Female Vocalist by NOW Magazine.

In addition to her music career, Sarah has published poetry, exhibited paintings and appeared in film and television including the film noir Black Widow and the short film series Tales of the Baroness. Her latest record is The Baroness.
