City Sonic Artist Serena Ryder

SERENA RYDER is a Juno Award-winning singer, songwriter and guitarist whose music is a playful, soulful mix of folk, roots and rock.

She grew up in Millbrook Ontario, and started performing as a teen in Peterborough. She came to national attention in 2006 with her major label debut If Your Memory Serves You Well, a collection of Canadian classics which has been certified Gold in Canada and helped earn Serena a Juno Award for Best New Artist in 2008.

She now lives in Toronto when she's not touring non-stop across Canada and worldwide including at festivals such as Bonnarroo, Lollapalooza and SXSW. Her latest album, is it o.k., was produced by John Alagia (Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer) and features the hit single "Little Bit of Red." It won the Juno Award for Adult Alternative Album of the Year in 2009.
