THE SPADINA SUBWAY STATION was made for moving people on the Toronto Transit System.

But it's made a few cameos in music too: in 1985, Toronto jazz band The Shuffle Demons scored a hit with their track "Spadina Bus" - which made a fuss about "transportation from Spadina Station."

The city's entire transit system was immortalized in the classic by Stompin' Tom Connors "The TTC Skitaddler" and more recently "I Get On The TTC" by local rapper Randal Paul became a YouTube hit. Meanwhile inside the subway system, surprise concerts unfold daily as more than 80 musicians make their living performing as buskers at 25 stations.

As more and more riders put on headphones to curate their own soundtrack to commuting, music continues to be part of the TTC experience.
