THE ART GALLERY OF ONTARIO is a Toronto cultural landmark in the heart of the city.

Located on the grounds of the former Grange Estate (steps from the Ontario College of Art) the AGO was founded in 1900 by private citizens under the original name, The Art Museum of Toronto. It houses over 68,000 works of art and has the world's largest public collection of sculpture by Henry Moore. While the space is designed for a variety of visual artists of all disciplines, its galleries are occasionally used for special music events. In 1996, the AGO hosted a performance by the Rheostatics, whose new album was inspired by the life and paintings of the Group of 7. Recently, after a multi-million dollar renovations project, a transformed AGO building designed by Frank Gehry opened to the public.

Here's hoping the sound of music will travel through those gorgeous new halls again soon.
